Detour, a 1987 Marinette Sedan, is 32' 6'' long at the waterline and approximately 35’ long overall, including swim platform and bow pulpit. Marinettes are known for their strong and durable construction, low maintenance and are very popular inland waterway, lake and close shore use boats. Over 1,800 Marinette 32s were built during her long production run, which ended in 1991.
She is constructed of welded marine-grade aluminum. A wide 12-foot beam results in more living space below than most boats of her size. With the dinette and salon settee converted, the Marinette will sleep six. The large V-berth has two screened portholes and a large overhead hatch. Marinettes have an internal passive ventilation system that circulates fresh air throughout the boat even when all doors and windows are closed, keeping the cabin cooler and dehumidified. The salon is quite large for a 32-footer, and the wraparound cabin windows add to the spacious effect. A port side lower helm is standard, and the interior is finished with teak paneling and woodwork. The salon and master stateroom floors have newly installed carpet and the galley floor is oak and ash parquet.
Additional features include wide side decks, foredeck seating and accessible engine room. Performance is brisk. With twin counter rotating 240 hp Chrysler gas engines, the Marinette 32 will cruise efficiently at 18 knots and 24 knots at full throttle. Marinettes are economical at cruise speed with a 1.25 miles/gallon fuel usage. It has a 6.5 Onan generator and electronics for salon helm and flybridge. The boat has all amenities for weekend fun or extended waterway cruising. Located in Knoxville, Tennessee on the Tennessee River MM 612, Detour is a USCG documented vessel (1057921) that will make a safe and low-maintenance inland waterway and close shore pleasure boat for many years to come.
This boat is ready to cruise. Dual controls/instrumentation, engine synchronizers, trim tabs, intercom/hailer, VHFs (2), remote controlled dual station spotlight, Ritchie compasses, new JVC stereo and Sony marine speakers on the flybridge, carbon monoxide and fume detectors, halon automatic fire protection in engine room and 2 on-board fire extinguishers, auto-bilge pumps (2), spare props, new stainless barbecue, fenders and front deck fender racks. Boat has thermostatically controlled bilge and lazerette heaters (no winterizing). 150 gallons gas, 35 gallons water. Personally and professionally maintained.
